  • William Thompson, Ph.D., DPT: $2.85 million from the National Institutes of Health to study bone strength
  • Kelly Naugle, Ph.D.: $592,000 from the Department of Defense to investigate chronic headache due to mild traumatic brain injury
  • Stuart Warden, Ph.D., PT, FACSM: $472,000 from the National Institutes of Health to research skeletal effects of serotonin transporter inhibition
  • Amber Comer, Ph.D., J.D.: $198,000 from the National Palliative Care Research Center to examine treatment decisions and outcomes after stroke
  • Andy Coggan, Ph.D.: $196,000 from the National Institutes of Health to look at dietary nitrate and muscle power with aging
  • Amanda Cecil, Ph.D., CMP: $80,000 from Global Business Travel Association to conduct research in tourism

William Thompson, Ph.D., DPT, and his students study bone strength thanks to a $2.85 million grant. Combined, Thompson and other SHHS colleagues received $2.006 million in research funding last year.
