Our department plays a key role in the state and local tourism economy. We’ve formed lasting community and corporate partnerships in downtown Indianapolis, so you get hands-on experience exploring the ins and outs of tourism, event, or sport management.
In fact, industry stakeholders and businesses often look to our students and our experienced faculty for help rethinking their strategic planning to maintain a competitive edge.
You could find yourself covering social media for the Indy 500. Or conducting a survey for the Event and Tourism Institute. Or helping to run a convention at the Indiana Convention Center. The possibilities are limitless.
When you choose a degree from our department, you’re ensuring you graduate with on-the-job experience. We require you to complete at least one internship as part of your education.
Our career services department will help you through the process. We’ve established partnerships with dozens of organizations and corporations throughout Indianapolis, so there are plenty of internship opportunities to choose from, whether you want to work in hotel management, direct corporate events, or organize sporting events.
