Godwin-Charles Ogbeide, Ph.D., M.B.A., is an associate professor and the director of the Events & Tourism Institute in the Department of Tourism, Event and Sport Management at IUPUI. His research interests are in the areas of strategic management and hospitality delight, as well as the implications of leadership policies and marketing strategies on stakeholders’ behavior and satisfaction. Before coming to the IUPUI School of Health & Human Sciences, he was an associate professor at the University of Arkansas. During this period, he was the first to develop a Hospitality Operations and Financial Analysis course and book with a hands-on spreadsheet modeling of financial analysis. He is also a pioneer of a hands-on approach to teaching meetings and events courses.
Ogbeide is an active member and leader of many professional organizations, active board member of various not-for-profit organizations, published author, dynamic public speaker, and winner of numerous international as well as national awards including teaching excellence, research excellence, and innovation awards. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with both his B.S. and M.S. degrees with emphasis in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and a Ph.D. with emphasis in Hospitality Administration and Leadership Development. He has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
