Earn a certificate in cultural heritage tourism

Dive into cultural heritage tourism with courses focused on developing a foundational knowledge of the tourism industry. In addition, you'll expand your knowledge of food and culture, cultural attractions, and cultural travel.

This certificate program prepares you for careers in cultural attractions, art and culture organizations, historic preservation, cultural travel, food, and other cultural tourism interests. 

You'll learn about tourism principles in other countries, from wines of the world to cruise line management to museums and other attractions.

Certificate Requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 18 credits in accordance with the specified curriculum.
  • Earn a minimum grade of C in each course.
  • Tasting courses require students to be 21 or older.

Admission Requirements:

  • The certificate in cultural heritage tourism is open to all IUPUI students, regardless of major, and can be pursued as a stand-alone degree or combined with an associate's or bachelor's degree.
  • In order to enroll in our certificate program, you must be admitted to IUPUI. If you are not currently admitted to IUPUI, you will need to meet the admission requirements established by IUPUI. For more information, visit admissions.iupui.edu/apply.
