Chances are, no matter what your dream career is, an understanding of managing successful events will benefit you during your professional or personal life. 

With a minor in events management, you’ll be set for a position managing corporate, nonprofit, social, cultural, and sports events. You’ll learn how to create, manage, and execute an event from a designed concept, as well as the basics of event budgeting, site selection, marketing, staffing, and risk management.

Take advantage of this academic opportunity and discover the ins and outs of special events, such as fundraisers, corporate retreats, sports, weddings, and more.

Eligibility:

  • The events management minor is open to all IUPUI students, except tourism, conventions, and event management majors, and can be combined with any associate's or bachelor's degree.
  • In order to enroll in this minor, you must be admitted to IUPUI. If you are not currently admitted to IUPUI, you will need to meet the admission requirements established by IUPUI. For more information, visit admissions.iupui.edu/apply.

Minor requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 15 credits in accordance with the specified curriculum.
  • Earn a minimum grade of C in each course.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average.
