Minor in tourism management

Finding your favorite someplace in the workforce could be in the tourism industry.

The tourism management minor helps you land a career in destination marketing organizations, tourist attractions, travel businesses, and tourist leisure services. You'll improve your knowledge and skills for this career path with courses focused on the management, marketing, and product development of destination marketing organizations, such as convention and visitors' bureaus and state tourism offices. 

You'll also examine the relationships between tourism, sustainability, and development at local, state, national, and international levels.

Eligibility:

  • The tourism management minor is open to all IUPUI students, except tourism, conventions, and event management majors, and can be combined with any associate's or bachelor's degree.
  • In order to enroll in this minor, you must be admitted to IUPUI. If you are not currently admitted to IUPUI, you will need to meet the admission requirements established by IUPUI. For more information, visit admissions.iupui.edu/apply.

Minor requirements:

  • Complete a minimum of 15 credits in accordance with the specified curriculum.
  • Earn a minimum grade of C in each course.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average.
