Biography
Julie Bednarski, OTD, MHS, OTR, DipACLM serves as the Occupational Therapy Program Director. Her clinical expertise spans multidisciplinary rehabilitation management and geriatric rehabilitation in both acute care and skilled nursing settings. Dr. Bednarski is certified as by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine as a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional.
Dr. Bednarski is most interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning with emphasis on health and wellness initiatives for community-dwelling adults using the principles of lifestyle medicine. Her efforts are also focused on integrating occupational therapy and lifestyle medicine within primary care to mitigate the impact of chronic conditions on occupational performance.
Dr. Bednarski is co-author of the recently published textbook, second edition of "The entry-level occupational therapy doctorate capstone: A framework for the experience and project". This book informs practice on the OT capstone to faculty, students, and community partners. Bednarski wants to develop meaningful student engagement opportunities within the community and measure corresponding student outcomes.
