Biography
Victoria G. Wilburn, D.H.Sc., OTR, CLT, FAOTA is the post professional OTD program director and an associate professor. As a community-engaged researcher, Dr. Wilburn partners with community organizations to help solve pressing issues that impact central Indiana residents, focusing on healthcare access and has mentored numerous scholars across the country on community engaged research.
The Indiana Occupational Therapy Association has recognized Dr. Wilburn’s contributions to her profession as Occupational Therapist of the Year, awarded Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and inducted into the Indiana Latino Leadership Circle. Additionally, her contributions to society have been recognized by her alma mater, Boston University's Alumni Association, Alumni Hall of Fame from her high school (Conant), named Outstanding Woman Leader by the Indiana University Office of Women, and selected by the White House as part of the Inaugural Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Wilburn has testified before Congress (2021) as a national expert in improving healthcare workforce. She also serves as a state representative for the Indiana legislature, and her leadership has been recognized for healthcare legislation including by Mental Health America-Indiana Chapter Freshman Legislator of the Year (2023), Disability Advocate of the Year from Easterseals Disabilty & Community Services (2024), and Legislator of the Year by the Indiana Chiefs of Police Association (2025) for passing nationally recognized mental health care policies for police and fire professionals.
Wilburn earned her Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy from Boston University (2005) and her Master of Health Science (2012) and Doctor of Health Science (2014) degrees from the University of Indianapolis.
