The hospitality management minor will lead you to a career in lodging, restaurants, bars, clubs, convention and conference centers, event venues, catering companies, and other hospitality service businesses. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the tourism industry, including how to best meet guests’ needs at hotels, how to manage venues, and best practices for catering.

In three years or fewer, depending on your schedule and courses offered, you can earn this credential. 

Eligibility

  • The hospitality management minor is open to current students except tourism, conventions, and event management majors, and can be combined with any associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
  • In order to enroll in this minor, you must already be admitted. If you are not currently admitted, you will need to meet the admission requirements. For more information, visit IU Indianapolis admissions.

Minor requirements

  • Complete a minimum of 16 credits in accordance with the specified curriculum.
  • Earn a minimum grade of C in each course.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 overall grade point average.
