Earn a doctorate in physical therapy

The IU Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program provides an entry-level physical therapy education for individuals looking to enter the profession. The goal of the DPT program is to prepare students to make a real difference in the lives of their patients.

The doctorate is a three-year, full-time program. With a comprehensive curriculum, the program will offer you a variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical partnerships, both locally and nationally, to facilitate and develop clinical skills. After completing the coursework and fieldwork, graduates with be eligible to sit for the licensure exam for physical therapy.

You will leave the program with a sense of commitment to contribute to the health of the community and to grow personally and professionally throughout your career.

Get hands-on experience

The curriculum of the DPT program consists of four, full-time clinical experiences. Integrated Clinical Education (ICE) courses occur in both semesters of the first year of study, and the spring semester of the second year of study. This fieldwork will provide you with practical experience for the real world and expose you to a variety of clinical settings.
